Chipping Program Request

Napa Firewise has a FREE Chipping Program available to county residents. When your vegetation pile(s) is ready for chipping, fill out and submit this application form electronically, or call the Firewise Hotline at 707-967-1426 with your location information. Due to the large demand, we will do our best to complete your chipping requests within 15 working days of receiving your information.

Defensible Space Hours refers to the estimated hours that you or your contractor worked
to create your defensible space.

Program Criteria

  • Please don’t submit form until your vegetation pile(s) is stacked and ready for
    processing.
  • Maximum individual pile size is 20 feet long by 6 feet high by 10 feet wide.
  • Chipping to occur along road/driveway or area allowing the crew to work alongside
    the pile safety.
  • All material to be chipped shall be placed along the edge of the road or driveway
    with the cut ends pointing one direction.
  • No poison oak.
  • Stem diameters must be less than 6 inches.
  • No dozer or tractor piles.
  • Chipped vegetation will be life on the ground for decomposition.
